The second one has got to be my favourite Jackie - I'm not very much into purple, so I guess that's the main reason for not liking the first one thát much.
The second one however, now thát I like ! First of all you've used a pic that counts amongst my all-time favourites, so it's always a joy to see it appear in artwork. Furthermore I much prefer the layout of 'eyes' in this version, when I compare the two. I've got to agree with mames here, about 'eyes' being a tad awkward to read in the first version.
Also have got to agree with Ermina, when she talks about the inside curve of the second 'e'.
And finally, what I like most of all about this second wp, is the contrast between his full-on coloured eyes, and the lighter opacity of the rest of the wp. It's very striking and eye-catching (no pun intended).

Whew! heat That 2nd one is just to die for, Jackie. I have to admit I instantly thought of Ann because I know how much she loves that picture of Orlando. neener And who could blame her. Talk about your predatory stare.... whistle

I love everything about that one. Love how his eyes just 'pop'. I like the vibrant purple in the first one, but would probably agree with the others' comments. I do like it, don't get me wrong, but not nearly as much as the 2nd. You've got a real winner in that one. I think I'd have to say it's my favorite of your works so far.

Can I say again how good it is to have you back? wub

It's interesting that almost all of you all the lighter one better. I actually prefer the first, even though I couldn't get it to work right for me, because I think it is more dramatic and interesting. I was more worried about the second being all bland and wishy-washy, which I do think it is. Like I said, I will revisit them at a later date. Perhaps I should post the psd file for the first and throw it open as a challenge! lol
Thanks again for all the comments and suggestions.

Dang, and two other works I only see now paperbag ... sorry for the long delay, Jackie, it's not just because of my lack of time that I didn't comment on them up to now, it's also because of the fact that I didn't notice that you posted them blush.

They're both eye-openers, absolutely!
The first one because of the rich blue and purple on the b/w pic and because you focussed your work only on one eye - I like it that you interrupted the blue. It looks as if Orlando was peeking through a curtain. And how you placed the big fonts of EYES. Moved together on the left side - looks funny.
The second one is mesmerising faint. To leave Orlando's eyes free is almost a crime! It's hard to detach oneself from them and to concentrate on the rest of the wall bigsigh. - The same here: I love the masking effect you achieved with the faded white layer and I also love the style and placing of the title. A very captivating wall, like the blue one.

(Belated) thanks for sharing, Jackie!
